The East Kent Branch has been notified of the death of Keith William Carpenter, who died on 27 May 2022, aged 84.

Keith William Carpenter was born on the 20 January 1938.  On leaving school, he became a Police Cadet.  When called for National Service, he joined The Grenadier Guards and was subsequently posted to Queen’s Company.  During his Service with the Colours, he took part in several Queen’s Birthday Parades and many other ceremonial duties.   He was reportedly very proud of his Service with the Colours.

After National Service he rejoined Police Cadets and then joined Surrey Police.  He served, as a Police Constable, with Surrey Police for over 30 years and obtained several commendations.

Keith spent most of his life in the East Surrey area, living in the Reigate/Redhill area.  Unfortunately, it appears that Keith was not a member of any Branch, and we can (as yet) find no record of him in the Association records.  We are also (as yet) without his Regimental Number in order further investigation into his Service with the Colours can be identified.

However, we have been advised that Grenadiers are welcome to attend Keith’s funeral, which will be held at 1115 hrs on Monday 4th July 2022 at Surrey and Sussex Crematorium, Balcombe Road, Crawley RH10 3NQ.

Family flowers only.  Donations to Kent, Surrey and Sussex Air Ambulance, via their Donations Page (https://www.aakss.org.uk/donate), are welcomed.
